Does a 6 motor drive usually need a PTO?

Do you usually need a PTO to be able to build a 6 motor drive, and what would you connect it to?

You don’t need a PTO to build a 6-motor drive, but if you want to connect it to something else, go ahead. What you power with your PTO is up to you. (Though, as a tip… Whatever you power with your PTO should probably be something that usually you use when the robot is not driving around; this would allow you to still use the 6-motor drive as a 6-motor drive).

I have a limited supply of pneumatics, so in Spin Up for example, you would NEED a PTO for a 6 motor drive.

Most PTO-s utilize pneumatics to function.

I want to have a 6 motor drive train but I am using 3 motors for my intake/flywheel. Using 2 5.5w motors in the drivetrain would keep me under the 88w limit but im worried about how the 5.5w motors will work with the 11w motors. My questions are: -What is the rpm of 5.5w motors? -Would the 5.5w motors work cooperatively with the 11w motors in the drive train (gears are connecting all 6 wheels)? -Would using this method make it a “5” motor drive train?

How do we feel about the new motor rules?

The GDC has finally changed the 8 motor limit!!! [image] According to R12, we now have a “Watt” cap that can’t exceed 88W. That means we can expect those new 5.5W motors to be used in tandem with our robots. I’m excited for one, but I was wondering how you guys feel about it.
