He wasn’t qualified because he was a fill in. The person that was supposed to be head ref wasn’t able to make it so it was either the unqualified but experienced teen be the head ref or have the event get cancelled. people not reading the manual
Per the rules you can stay in your driver’s station and contest rules, the ref has the option of dealing with it now or later, but usually will do it right then. You being able to cite in the game manual respectfully will go a long way in helping the situation. Plus ref’s are only human, do consider what is going on around you
