Don't you hate it when

Don’t you hate it when you are a team of 1 because the rest of your team either graduated or isn’t doing robotics this yr?

(Actually I don’t though cause now I get to call all the shots.)

Don’t you hate it when somebody revives a dead thread?

No. Kinda fun to see convos that we missed out on previously. As long as you bring something important to the conversation, I don’t see an issue with it.

Don’t you hate it when your radio disconnects for a split second at the start of your official programming skills run, throwing the entire run off?

Imagine actually doing programming skills. My team’s programmer “had to miss” all of last year’s comps.

for some reason i read:
don’t you hate it when someone is revived from the dead?

Don’t you hate it when everyone’s talking about their in-person comps but all the in-person comps posted for the whole season was either hosted by your coach or your relatives. And there’s only like 4. And there’s like 6 registered teams in the state. Remote comps will do I guess…

Don’t you hate it when you set a cortex on fire because you used non encoded direct drive motors?

Been there, done that.

Don’t you hate it when you get unexpectedly upgraded to V5 from cortex because you’re the most experienced team in the org, only for your mentor to roll out and be like, “Oh yeah, the rest of you can use V5 if you want.”?

Don’t you hate it when you spend ages making sure you have everything for a comp, only to show up at the comp without a controller?

Don’t you hate it when you miss the mark on a table slide and then proceed to knock your robot off the table and face plant.

Don’t you hate it when you cant use snapcad cause your teams computers (some of them) use windows N.T. 4.0

Don’t you hate it when in a competition you keep getting teamed with awful bots and then get in the bottom five teams and then get an awful alliance for the tournament. This happens so often for my team it’s unbearable

I’ve knocked my robot on the floor every year I’ve been in robotics.

My first year of robotics we had a team of four but two of them never showed up to work on our robot.

Don’t you hate it when, you start the school year hoping that you will be able to start working on your robot, but then coVid limitations don’t allow you to for the next two weeks so your stuck at home doing nothing accept working a dumb notebook for at least 2 hours each day, so that when you actually get back to school you don’t have specific parts so you have to wait and then thanksgiving break comes along and you can’t take your robot home because the # of cases in your county are increasing and then your robot is super far behind everyone else’s on the internet and then you start to use PROS but it doesn’t work so you wasted a whole week trying to learn it and you say a ton of people but they say everything should be fine when it really isn’t, so then you try coding your X drive but then you find out controller values were changed to 100 and nt -127 to 127.

This sounds very specific.

Don’t you hate it when you don’t save your code on a memory key and instead put it on the school’s hard drive, so when you go to a competition 4 hours away, you can’t access it and you don’t have it uploaded to your robot yet?

Thankfully we had a great mentor.

Don’t you hate it when you save your code on a flash drive and then [blank] happens to flash drive?

  1. Gets corrupted? You need to eject the flash drive before pulling it out (you can google how to eject a flash drive if you don’t know)
  2. Gets lost? Zip tie a rubber band to it and put it around your arm or your backpack
