Hopefully soon but Winston is currently in China and he is having trouble accessing Fireship through his VPN.
You can apply to the alpha testing through the link above, which will be a test for the app at MoA. The initial launch is planned to be in late August right now.
Just a reminder that the competition naming structure has changed - VRC refers to all competition formats - IQ, V5, AI, and U ⦠so names of programs look like:
VEX {program designator} Robotics Competition
This is a change pushed by VEX Robotics in terms of branding and use of their trademark.
RECF has used shortened names:
VIQRC
V5RC
VAIRC
VURC
for their programs on RobotEvents and elsewhere in communication.
If you are developing an app make sure you follow branding guidelines of both VEX and RECF.
Ah right, thanks for the reminder. Iāll look through the app and make sure its all named properly since we started developing the app before the name changes so some might have slipped through.
This app looks really well built! I love the slick design and how it presents you with the important information! I am definitely looking forward to its release on Android!
- When will it be released?
- Will it be released on the app store?
- How will the app know live timing?
Hello VEX Forum!
Iām Rowan, one of the members from the Elapse team.
Weāre excited to announce that Elapse has entered its public beta for both iOS and Android!
More information about accessing Elapse can be found on our Discord Server, we are currently utilizing TestFlight and .apk files. You can expect Elapse to be published to Google Play and the App Store in the coming weeks!
In addition to all of the features described in the original post, weāre happy to announce CloudScout!
CloudScout aims to create a brand new and streamlined scouting experience for teams. Instead of just simple match notes, CloudScout allows teams to create ScoutSheets, which allow team members to make notes on robot specifications, autonomous configurations, and to take and save pictures. These ScoutSheets can then be shared with your teammates through Groups. Groups allow you to add many people to collaborate on ScoutSheets and effectively create a library of teams. Groups are made by independent invites meaning Elapse will not require any external verification for these awesome collaborative features.
CloudScout is currently experimental, however a demo of it is available right now.
In order to utilize these features, users will now be asked to create an account during the app onboarding process. We currently support sign in via an email and password, but are aiming to implement sign in with Google and Apple ID later this month.
If you spot any bugs or have any feature suggestions, feel free to let us know here or in our Discord Server. We hope you enjoy using Elapse!
Quick update, our TestFlight invite can be found at https://testflight.apple.com/join/wHBn4haq and all Android beta releases can be found at https://github.com/elapse-app/elapse-android
Please do not download beta releases from anywhere but those links!
Enjoy! If you spot any bugs, please let us know in our discord so we can squash them :ā)
Will there be one for devices such as chromebook or dell laptops?
On testflight it says āThis beta isnāt accepting any new testers right now.ā
W app, I love Roboscout and everything but it just feels like itās missing something no offense to to the creators I love your app. I think elapse will bring this to me. Nice sleek design you guys did good ![]()
Yes we paused testing as we found quite a few bugs and wanted to get those fixed before further opening it. It should be back up later today, and Iāll make it an announcement in the forum and the discord.
Hopefully in the future but it isnāt a focus as of right now since I think most people would be using it on their phones, notably at competitions.
Sorry for the late reply but I think some of this information would be useful for everyone rather later than never.
- Currently it is in an open beta but hopefully it will be ready for a release in a week (once we have fixed most of the bugs)
- Once it is released, yes. Currently, it is on TestFlight for iOS.
- It uses a moving average of the last 5 matches to calculate an average delay (difference between scheduled time and started time), which is then applied to any matches that have not been played yet.
Do you have an expected release date or is it still too early to tell?
Weāre aiming for mid to late October, but look for more details to come.
Join our discord for updates as soon as we release them ![]()
How is the app so far. I know making an app is probably very difficult especially with how good yours looks so I wouldnāt be surprised if it takes a bit longer than the set time.
It is currently looking like it should be ready for release within the coming weeks. It has been delayed so much because most if not all of our dev team is composed of seniors, so we have been busy with school and university applications. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Itās all good, I understand that your schedules are probably filled up when youāre a senior, so it makes sense why it may take a while longer. The app also looks very nice so it probably takes time too.
I am excited for the release of the app and canāt wait to try it! ![]()

You can currently try it through TestFlight on iOS or by installing it through the APK on Android. The links to each can be found in this post.
