Love the new update with team names visible in tournament rankings!
Just downloaded and used it today for a competition and I love it! The UI and the info it gives is laid out way better that Via and is way more pleasant to use.
The only problem I have is that I am not able to log in after creating an account. I have tried to reset password multiple times but all it says once I try again is, āAn error occured when logging into your account, please try again.ā I am an android user if that info is needed.
Other than that, I love the app!!

Iāve recently downloaded Elapse, and its a great alternative to Vex Via. However, I am coaching an IQ team, and I was wondering if thereād be implementation for IQ sometime?
Also, you already have a link to the livestream for events which offer it. Would it be possible to have the livestream play inside an embedded box within the Tournment Info UI?

Maybe? Weāre still trying to make sure the elapse vrc experience is polished, but we are open source! If anyone wants to help and make this happen before we get to it, that would be greatly appreciated!
I wish, but often EPs donāt update that page until after the competition starts, and only provide a link, often not in the same place. Streams are also not standardized, and could be hosted on any number of platforms, not just YouTube.
Iām sure there would be some way to do that, but then weāre hosting content we canāt vet first, etc. Our current implementation was the easiest way for teams to easily find the webcast link, but maybe weāll look into this in the future!
Thereās another good vex via alternative that can do V5 and IQ. Itās called RoboNexus. robonexus.app or you can search it on the App Store.
I love the look and look forward to using it, but every time I try to set it up (IOS), it freezes then goes dark. Any tips? The issue may be something to do with the fact that the āteam numberā blank does not do anything (show possible matches) and pressing search just takes you to the confirm button.
Canāt wait to see all of the aforementioned features!

How does TrueSkill work?

Not sure what level of explanation you are looking for. The Wiki page is a good starting point: TrueSkill - Wikipedia
Basically, TrueSkill is Elo for multiplayer games where team membership changes, and is well suited in that regard for Vex matches. It also matches the intuition that each teamās match performance is described by a statistical normal distribution.
TrueSkill is an algorithm used for matchmaking in video games, but they implemented it in RobotStats by assigning each team two variables:
- Their skill
- Uncertainty value (how confident the computer is of their skill).
This ratio creates win/loss probability and can predict match outcomes and win percentage.
