On the RECF website (Judging: Deadlines & Dates - REC Foundation) the table shows the deadline for digital notebook submissions is essentially a week after you qualify for Worlds. This feels extremely limiting and entails any work done from the time you qualify to Worlds will not be documented (in my team’s case, building a new robot). The last time I went to Worlds (Tipping Point), I was able to submit my notebook about a week and a half before Worlds.
Are teams still able to submit an updated notebook after that date, and will the judges look at this? Or is the one initially submitted the final version judges will look at.
Digital notebooks are submitted in RobotEvents using a link. When using Google Slides to notebook, the link will constantly update as the Slides are updated, whereas if you are using Powerpoint or some sort of file turned into a link, it will not updated (at least from my understanding). I may be wrong.
DENs are judged during the same timeline as initial online interviews. They will not be re-evaluated if a team adds more information. Judged evaluate the notebooks on their own time frame, so some notebooks might be judged immediately after the judge gets access to it, while others are judged later on. Overall this is an incredibly fair process that ensures consistent competency evaluation across each team.
