I would have the rulebook on the app auto update with the official one but with all the stuff happening between recf and vex, if recf posts a different rulebook than vex, I would add the option to switch between the 2
and possibly being able to share it between people if that’s not to hard on you guys
@2775U-Hw Advertising is a strong word since the app is free, lol. The difference being that Vex Team is team-centric which displays all of the team info in one place as opposed to lists of teams. Was just trying to be helpful and provide the community an available option. ![]()
I’m not confident that the recf will actually have a competition this year while it would be nice there’s so little time and so many legal hurdles that I would just stick with vex for now but if the recf actually manages to make a new competition it could probably be added.
@thejose1 You do know that advertising is advertising even if that product is free. Just think of how free mobile apps on the play store still advertise even thought the app is free
Hi, I would totally love to try and help. I have coded a few PWAs before. This looks amazing, what you are doing, and I definitely want to help
I would love your help. You can become a part of the project be starting out as a beta user. Just fill out this quick form Beta User Application Form. and I’ll be in touch.
Hi Seth, thanks so much for the quick reply, I’m really excited to start working on this with you guys! It honestly seems really interesting to see new developments on more modernized apps for VEX. lmk when i can start!
Hey guys! Jedi here.
Myself, @Seth_G, and @vulcan have been working diligently to get this out to everyone. We are trying to involve you guys as much as humanly possible, so please, if you have a suggestion…
TELL US!
We’d absolutely love any support and suggestions anyone would like to offer. Everything will be taken to consideration.
Here’s a few things I’ve seen floating around:
We’ve actually been thinking about this. It’s been on the bucket list of Seth and mine, so we’re probably going to add some sort of Learning Hub in Robo Ops.
OP in this context seems to be missing? Anywho, please refrain from advertising on this post. This post is meant to be for Robo Ops discussion and updates only. However, if you would like to make a different post and tag us in it, go ahead! I’d love to take a look.
Of course, the question of the messy divorce. This has been a long-standing question between Seth and myself ever since we took on this project for the community. Personally, with all the things happening in the Texan courts and the dominion VEX is asserting over their material, we’ll likely implement VEX’s manuals and rules rather than RECF’s. This post sums it up quite well:
Right now, Robo Ops will focus on VEX’s documentation, since those are the only stable documents and APIs that we can get our hands on.
Another topic that hasn’t been posted here but is probably a circulating question:
When’s release?
Great question.
…We don’t know.
With everything happening in the VEX-RECF divorce and subsequent legal battles, we often have to make compromises with APIs, rule importing, and other things. We’re trying our best, I assure you, but the technicalities are our Achilles’ heel at the moment. The only date we can give you is June 30th, our tentative goal for release. THAT IS NOT A SET IN STONE DAY. That is highly flexible and is bound to change based on updates with VEX/RECF and other VEX news.
All in all, we’re working our hardest. We thank each and every one of you for your support and patience.
Have a great day,
Seth (2775U), Jedi (53787N), and Vulcan (97711V)
I believe someone reported it and it got removed.
