Linux: cant get brain to connect to computer

Im having an issue and cant seem to figure out what the problem is. On linux (linux mint), I cant get my brain to connect to the computer. I tried vex code v5 web based, it says no brain connected. When I press connect it opens a prompt to connect to the brain with the lowest id numbers, I have two options visible with identical names but one has 0 at the end and the other has 1. I try and connect to 0, nothing happens (but when i open the prompt again it says paired. Still says no brain connected on the website. Then i try 1 just to see, nothing happens. Tried that a couple times. Gave up and tried to open VS Vex extension, no devices would show up on that. Im at a loss, no idea what the problem could be.

You probably need to setup udev rules, see this.
