What is the theoretical max points for 2024-2025 game? I know it could be unlimited but just ideas?

For Rapid Relay, there doesn’t seem to be a limit. There are going to be some high scoring team this year :)

For High Stakes in a head to head match, the limit seems to be 88pts for high school, and 96pts for VEXU due to the buddy hang rule.

I would be suprised if we see people going above 150 points and for skills less than 50

i would be surprised if we didnt hit 250.

I actually think skills scores will be much higher than team challenge scores, given the different ways those formats are scored.

For Skills let’s assume you can get a shot off and score every 3 seconds and you’re able to trigger all 4 switches. That means every shot made earns you 12 points.

20 made shots x 12 points + 4 switch points = 244 points!

So hitting that 250 mark is certainly a possibility.

For team challenges, you’d have to complete passes and make the shots (assuming you’re able to get all 4 switches) to get the max 12 points per…which I think will be far harder! I’d expect a strong score in team challenge matches to be the in the 150 range.

Sorry forgot the points whent to twelve.

This might be easier if you can posses 2 balls at once.

Theoretically, assuming infinite speed for the human and robot, infinite points are possible, as the robot could just score an infinite amount of balls.

However, this is not the case. Real-life factors such as:

- motor speed limit
- motor heating
- human speed
- low-human precision when in high-stress conditions
- shooting mechanism type
- shooting limitations

will all lower the actual results.

Here’s a quick formula to calculate results, assuming constant speed for actions:

P = 60s * p+ w

P = total points, s = shots per second, p = points per shot (including passes), and w = switches pushed.

There’s already been a bit of discussion on this (e.g. this post from me in the main Rapid Relay thread) where I came up with high teamwork score of 395, with assumptions that were *incredibly* generous.

This is a game with way more human variables than in the last couple of years, so practice is going to matter even more than normal for maximizing scores.
