New Products - February 2021

Two new products have just been added to the VEX Website.

First up is High Strength Conveyor Chain (276-7141). AKA, the new chain found in the V5 Workcell Kit.

Next is the 24" High Strength Shaft (2-Pack) (276-7465). This will eventually replace the (now discontinued) 12" High Strength Shaft (4-Pack).

Both of these products are now available to purchase from the US Website. International availability will vary.

What on earth is the point of the 24" shafts? I can use the 12" ones without cutting them up. I wouldn’t even be able to store the 24" ones with my stuff anywhere.

So buy the 24" and cut them in half. But for those of us that have wanted 18" ones and the VEXU roboteers wanting the 24" ones I say thank you.

Yeah I have to agree with foster. 24" hs shaft would be helpful

Woohoo! 24" HS shafts! No more janky 12 tooth gear hs shaft couplers!

You could use 60 tooth gears as couplers but it’s vert not low profile

oh yea! longer shafts finally. thanks DRow!

Yay! I have no need for these but I appreciate them anyway!

Hey, I got overcome with the excitement of the long shafts, I didn’t think about the new conveyor parts. Are there flaps that will attach to the holes in the segments or is that a future part?

Does this mean that we will start to see more things from the work it soon? (Such as the new motors and electromagnet with disks) If so, do we have a timeline for these?

I assumed that they would be waiting to do a release until the new game reveal. That way nobody tries to use them for Change Up and the game manual doesn’t need an update talking about motor allocation.

With the advent of higher community interest and development of more advanced motor sharing techniques over the more recent years with the reduction of number of motors available, it would be an excellent point to introduce ring gears and carriers to further spark the construction of more complex mechanisms that allow teams to use their motor power to the fullest.

Can we get IQ chain in VRC?

As someone that has wept quietly over the VEXIQ chain fails, I’d like to recommend that you go for the VRC high strength chain.
