VEX Robotics and the REC Foundation are bridging the gap between classroom and workforce while fueling Industry 4.0 technology and tomorrow’s innovators. VEX provides proven robotics technology, and REC Foundation created the Factory Automation Competition. Together we aim to improve Workforce Development Education and interest by providing a clear path for students to prepare for advanced manufacturing careers, help close manufacturing skills gaps for many employers, and prepare the manufacturing workforce for continual career development.
This kit is an introduction into the world of industrial robotics. We’ve developed a set of unique STEM Labs and educator resources that provide students with the opportunity to develop technical and problem-solving skills by designing and building a simulated manufacturing workcell with a five axis robot.
Nearly all products manufactured in the world today utilize some form of mechanization, many of which include robotic workcells. The V5 Workcell utilizes a robotic arm and conveyor system , which students build out of parts designed to work with the VEX V5 system.
V5 Workcell is available to pre-order on the US Store now. Availability will open for international stores in the coming weeks.
Not sure. Kits will not ship until Q2, which will be around when the new game is released. I’d expect legality to be addressed in the 2021-2022 game manual.
I’m I the only one freaking out about an electromagnet? This is amazing!!! No more stupid ratchets for locking mechanisms! Intense grappling power! New kind of launcher propulsion (think TP puncher)???
New ways to climb!
I love magnets!
I just REALLY hope these parts are sold separately. I’m not about to drop 2.5K on this kit, but I might spend the cash I just made on $GME on some electromagnets if they’re sold separately.
here are links to the completely part list in each section of the kit:
I’m seeing most notably a v5 electromagnet, a new potentiometer, some funky new structure components, some rubber bumpers, some cool sideways conveyor tread chain links, and some other weird stuff that may or may not be vrc legal.
