Hi everyone,
I bought a VexIQ a few weeks ago and managed to assemble the standard drive base. I have a couple of programs, autopilot and driver control. In autopilot the robot goes back and forth. cute but hardly mind blowing.
I am wondering where to go from there. Not sure what I’m supposed to do next
Are there any tutorials for newbies online? any blog?
Simple projects to get warmed up?
Thanks
Alex
I’d suggest building the Armbot and then start writing your own code to make it do things autonomously. Sorting coloured blocks is a good starter project:

If this is a school project and the students are in the correct age group for the VEX IQ Challenge, then building a robot for competition is a great way to learn.
Go to a competition. Nothing inspires the kids more than actually being in a competition. Don’t delay competing because you don’t think you are ready. Just get out there and do it. Don’t expect to win anything, just do it for the experience.
