Eh not necessarily. It just seems easier to have one person doing the notebooking that way there is more specialty focus. That’s just me tho.
Do you mean that teams shouldn’t have multiple people working on the notebook? If so I have to ask why. While the rubric does not specifically say either that one person or that all members should work on it, it seems to suggest that everyone should help. The rubric states that a perfect notebook “Provides a complete record of team and project assignments; … notes from team meetings including goals, decisions, and accomplishments;” I would argue that this is much easier when everyone works in the notebook. Many other categories can be most effectively achieved with help from everyone, specifically in brainstorming: “Identifies the game challenge or robot design challenge in detail at the start of each design process cycle with words and pictures.” “Lists three or more possible solutions to the challenge with labeled diagrams” "Explains why the solution was selected through testing and/or a decision matrix. Fully describes the plan to implement the solution. "
Some categories would be nearly impossible to get with only one member writing: "Records all the steps to test the solution, including test results"
I disagree with this, namely for the fact that my team does pretty well with just one person (me) documenting. I say this because my teammate are very aware of what I put in the notebook - mostly because what goes into the notebook is stuff that we’ve done. We brainstorm and design together, and create concepts, test, etc. By definition, the notebook is a way to articulate your design process, time management, roles, etc. By having one person do this, it makes it easier for the rest of the team to actually do the stuff that goes into the book. But I also see the benefits of having everyone do that. However, just a personal opinion of mine, having multiple people actually put info into the book isn’t necessarily the best way to present it because keeping a similar format among say 5 different teammates would be hard. Especially if you have really good info and are a contender for design/excellence.
@JustARedneckEngineer, I am sure you do an excellent job (pun intended) keeping your team’s notebook in the top shape.
However, I cannot help but quote this observation:

I’m gonna give a thumbs up to this, but the ask is they need to write neatly, clearly, spell correctly, have good grammar and punctuation. Umm on second thought, after seeing a ton of posts here maybe I won’t give a thumbs up. 
I have some gold standards in my book, like teams on the Eastern Shore of MD. I also have Miranda, she is the Queen of Notebooks. You all measure books in pages, we measured hers in inches. That rubric question “Could you build the robot from the notebook” always got an 11 out of 5. IKEA and VEX build instructions take a back seat to her efforts.
So the boys can write, but don’t make a mess of the book.

That is so so so true lol. The issue with my notebook is, it’s not setup in a “practice log” format. So I don’t actually write entries about what we do during each practice, but I’m sure I could work something out. I know you’re a mentor and may have judged before, so do you think judges want to see that more than one person actually put something in the book? Or would they rather know that each teammate has a specialized role and work well together as documented in the book?
I am not a girl and I do notebook for my team but im still the only one who physically writes entries in it. I agree with the previous take that formulating ideas and brainstorming together as a team is efficient and is how the design process should be done, but then formatting and writing it in as an individual is much easier.
I also maintain our notebook. Sadly enough, I think I’m the most organized person on our team and that’s saying something. I am a guy and I agree with Dom. Teammates can be great for brainstorming and general design but are often bad notebook keepers if they don’t have their hearts in it.
I accidentally got too good at notebook and I am now stuck doing it, although I still have my teammates help with general notebook stuff.

Is there a reason why you can’t coordinate with your team to keep the notebook consistent?
We’re teenagers. We can only organize things well on Reddit and tiktok.
They have their specialties and I have mine. Say, for example, you have four people on your team that are responsible for designing and maintaining the robot. One builder, one programmer, one modeler, and one notebooker. You all have things that you spend the entire practice on. Why would you have everyone write in the book when 1. Your teammates are busy working on their portion of the design as well as playing to their strengths and 2. One person is already doing the notebook. You wouldn’t need four people working on a CAD or program if one person is already doing that. It’s good to play to strengths and balance out the roles.
How do you have 8 people on one team? My org has a 3 person limit. It works well and we still collaborate with our other teams but I’m interested in seeing how other people do things.
