Organized Vex IQ CAD Models

Hi.

I have started to recognize the advantages of CADing before making your robot. It really helps design and think through what you need, and when you don’t have parts you can CAD in the meanwhile so when it arrives, you immediately start building.

So, when I started I wanted an already organized folder where I can download it off the internet and I will automatically get all my shafts, spacers, beams, and tires in separate folders to make modeling easier. But as I searched I could not find anything at all.

So, I decided the best option was to take the time to sort it all out into categories and sub-categories. This really saved time and made things much easier.

I would like to share this folder with all of you people so your lives will be MUCH easier.

warning this folder is categorized to how I would prefer and like it. So if there is something you cant find or wanted somewhere else, I am sorry

This is great, thank you!

A great feature of CAD is the ability to create a “Bill of Materials” (BOM). This lists all the parts you used to build your “object”.
Have you tried to create a BOM and see what you get? I’d like to think VEX got it all right, but things like “large flap” are problematic, as they only come in a kit, and you get several of them in one kit… But still, being able to show the judges what it took to order is a nice touch. It is ALWAYS critical in real manufacturing.

Yeah I tried. But the main thing about this is just about having a nice list of materials to easily access instead of inconveniently searching it up on vex website and then looking at the part number on your files.
