How do you open these CAD files? I assume these were done on Inventor. Is there anyway to open them on Mac?
I would very much like to see 5225A’s TB robot. I’m intrigued by their rollers which can change position. Also 10Q’s sky rise robot
imo there should be a pulley system that locks the sliding part when the tray is deployed and disengages the lock when the tray is down. This essentially allows you to have a shorter tray while having the same capacity which is advantageous for easier field navigation.
This is an excellent idea, I will definitely be checking in w/ that google folder occasionally, but I do have one question. How do you plan on getting an exact piece-for-piece cad of these bots? It is unlikely that they will all have other cad files or in-detail videos.
0_0 I’m totally geeking out just looking at that collection. My club always ends up needing to dismantle our bot for parts. (not that we ever have anything worth saving)
You have Fred VII and QCC2???
Oh my gosh that’s awesome
Most reveals show enough to fully clone the robots. If I ever get stuck though I will just ask around or do my best to guess on what it actually is.
929u’s turning point bot, duhhh
Just wanted to make an update, the 169A turning point CAD is almost done. It proved to be more difficult then i originally assumed. Here is a Pic from inside the Cad software of how far iv’e gotten.
dang, that’s really good so far, how much time have you spend on making that?
I made a CAD of their hood mech a few weeks ago and that took me 1-2 hours, the rest of the robot has taken me about 4-5 hours so far including trying to figure out how things work from their reveal. I also messed up and had the flywheel towers an inch too high and didn’t realize until i was almost finished all the ratchets which slowed me down a lot lol.
Ur gonna be so fast at CAD after this…
Nice, I feel like it would be cool if u could do USC TP but I understand if you don’t want to because they aren’t well known and their bot was quite complex, all custom pieces
how do you do chain in CAD?
Another Update, Just finished some renders of the 169A Turning point CAD. Files will be released soon, enjoy.
Didn’t even realize they used the rubber wheels in front… but guess that’s why this thread exists. This is awesome @Zach_929U!
Holy… that’s some slick CAD. Beautiful work! Its stunning!
Too bad my computer goes nuclear whenever I use CAD
