Yes! We called those Cable Cars. They were a good alternative to arms. Xenon can say more about that.

Oh neat! That’s actually a pretty sick sounding name for them. I’ve never seen anything like them. Would the intakes remain level with the tray as the tray moved forward or did they remain level with the ground?

we called it the cable car intakes, they were intakes on slides going the length of the first and second stage of the tray. chain would pull them up and down. to score towers, the intakes would slide up the tray and the tray would tilt forwards.
Some advantages of this system would have been:
- tower swapping
- stack deconstruction
- super consistent auton stack placement (intakes would have gone up and over the stack to place)
- easier center tower scoring (intakes go up and push all the cubes in the tray back and into the center tower.
I almost had it working, but I was encountering some issues with the slides, and had to kill the idea before my next comp. If I had though of them earlier in the season however, I think they would have been a viable replacement for arms.
