Most likely will be.
yeah that! Ill have to save this for later. Thanks!
My initial idea with motor distribution
4 motor drive
1 motor intake
1 motor for raising/lowering intake (useful for the 3 stacks)
1 motor flywheel
1 motor spinner
2 piston horizontal expansion
Is there any need for torque? Surely you should just have 2 m 400ish rpm connect to both motors, giving 2 spare for pneumatic and motor expander
DriveTrain
- 2 Motor (Tank)
- 4 Motor (Tank)
- 5 Motor (Tank)
- 6 Motor (Tank)
- 4 Motor (X-drive)
- 6 Motor (X-drive)
Launching Frisbees
- Flywheel
- Puncher
- Vertical Catapult
- Horizontal Catapult
a single flywheel will likely work best sense it actually allows the frisbee to spin making it stable er O_O
The hero bot that was in the video seems to be a conveyer, maybe add that to the poll
This is a basic idea of what I think would make a versatile and high-scoring robot:
-
An inclined disc holder/launcher that intakes discs on one end, rolls them up to an elevated end and launches them into the net with a flywheel (I probably wouldn’t use a lift as there is no variation in net heights.)
-
At least a four-motor drive, as this game has a lot of head-to-head combat
-
A horizontal extension mechanism to increase area points. Something with pneumatics would be pretty cool, but due to budget constraints, I would probably go for something similar to the one shown in the reveal. This mechanism could also be used as a way to spin the blue-red cylinders on the side of the fence, which could save motors for the drivetrain.
-
Additionally, I would want to make a relatively large robot to supplement the extension strategy.
Here’s a quick sketch to show where I would place all of these components:
(All of this is just things I thought up on the spot. If you’d like to make suggestions for this build, feel free to reply.
with you on that one
just watched that! seems really solid
Spin up is like Nothing but Net. You would say NBN 2.0
I though of the best thing to cover a lot of squares:
Attach a roll of string to the back of your robot and make it start unrolling when you ram into the wall some way and start driving.
I agree! However, I have more to add.
I felt like NBN was kind of lacking in strategy, it just boiled down to “Shoot in the net! Too bad if all of the balls are gone!” There really wasn’t a way to interact with the other team or turn the tide of the match.
With this, however, there are more things to do and more ways to earn points, which gives room for complex strategies and robots. This really feels like the core of NBN but improved in every way.
Would this count?
It’s going to be really hard to intake the disks because they are very flat
ok this is the last time I’m gonna say this:
YOU CANT KNOW A GAMES META UNTIL PEOPLE ACTUALLY START BUILDING ROBOTS, BECAUSE A META IS WHAT MOST GOOD TEAMS ARE DOING
change up
I just figured something out. Vex made a mistake. It never said the best 1 minute in vex history. The whole thing is now ruined.
