Sooo, SPIN UP META IS...? 😼

Torque isn’t just for pushing against other robots, it is also for acceleration. If you make it so your speed is too high, and you have low torque, you won’t be able to reach your max speed. Additionally, you might have to push another bot out of the way if you are fighting for disks or a roller.

2 minutes my dude

The meta hasn;t been formed yet, but that does not mean that people can’t predict it. It’s satisfying when you look back later in the year and realize your prediction was right.

shame nobody on this forum has ever felt that

I think it is likely that there will be some incentive to try and shut down teams that are exapanding during the endgame, this might be done by tring to trap other teams in a corner while trying to expand in the other direction.

Unraveled Nylon rope or anti slip mat strips could be useful for covering tiles
6 motor drive with 1 motor intake 1 motor flywheel and pn umatics to release rope.

Or just use chain instead

Chain couldn’t be compressed

Are nylon ropes and anti slip mat strips legal though? I have never seen anyone using them.

To everybody thinking of just trailing string behind them on the field, while we don’t have this year’s game manual, I will remind you a rule that looks like

Robots must be safe. The following types of mechanisms and components are NOT allowed:

Those that pose an unnecessary risk of Entanglement.

Has been in every game

Trailing string behind you is almost certainly going to be illegal.

im thinking of having a fold-out tray conveyer thing that can get the high goals

unless you cant go into the scoring zone, then i have no idea LMAO

Ig chain should be enough to stretch 11 feet

Copy most FRC teams. Use a flywheel shooter and tread intakes opposite side. Have a motor on a wheel to controller the rollers. Lots of springy wallbot pieces too. But I’m thibking about using odometer and a turret to make a “shoot from anywhere” bot.

My idea of an early-game meta is a conveyor bot that stores discs in a stack, then launches them out into the goals. I think they will restrict height.

I don’t know if it will be worth it to make a shoot from anywhere bot because it might be easier to just have one set position to fire your disks from. It would be very cool though. I could probably figure out how to do it with a gyro and gps but how do you do it with an odometer?

However without the game manual (:sob::sob:) we don’t know if string or tubing counts. It’s very possible that it’s only ‘structures’ (idk how to word that better than hard metal retractable/foldable things)

Well, you’re technically over all those squares, but we’ll have to see. You’d have to figure out how to keep it from unwinding before endgame, or you’d be out of size. They’ll probably make it illegal. Everyone would cover every square: +216 per alliance!

They probably did, too, and probably made a height limit so you can’t reach the goal.

i honestly wish that there was some way of changing the height of the high goal. when I heard the game was called spin up i thought it would be some sort of goal where if you spun a lever it would move the opposing goal up or down depending on which way you turn it. so you could make it easier for yourself and harder for your opponent

First, I was honestly thinking of a reworked tower takeover robot. The disks could be stacked up similarly and tipped into the basket, and the spinning intake at the bottom of the tray could be lifted up to spin the color-changer.

However, after seeing (potential) leaks from the Chinese document, it’ll most likely be some sort of shooting mechanism due to height restrictions. Most robots probably won’t go for the color changer in the early season (who knows though) nor will have a very good auton if so.

Same like tower takeover
