Thoughts on any strategies for override? Alliance matches + skills + auton

been indecisive on what strategies to use for this game, there are so many

Seriously, develop your own or list the ones you know of - then ask for feedback.

This approach is much better than getting others to tell you how to think.

I would recommend a strategy that involves stacking your colour pins and cups on goals and rolling rollers to your alliances colour to obtain a higher score!

I would also recommend partaking in the ā€˜king of the hill’ endgame as to not miss out on a potential extra points and attempt to negate any bonus from the opposing alliance having two robots in the zone

I would also highly recommend you utilise the matchloaders to introduce more game objects to the field for scoiring as well.

thats fair, i’ve been thinking through a few different approaches - mainly around consistency vs higher risk plays and how to balance scoring at different stages of the match with defensive play.

still testing things out but I wanted to get a sense of how others are weighing those trade offs in alliance matches vs skills.

i’ve also been considering drivetrain speed - faster setups r great for maneuverability, but they also hav less control and a higher risk of mistakes around field elements. curious how other teams are approaching that balance.

how do you get a higher score by doing that to the alliances colour? @LeoT-10743B

Great! I think researching ideas is the right approach. Right now, teams are digesting a complex Game Manual.

Good luck this upcoming season!

thanks, goodluck to your teams as well!

You will have to elaborate on that as I don’t understand what you mean, I also believe the answer you seek lies within the Game Manual so why don’t you utilise Ctrl+F and a couple of firing neurons to locate the truth yourself with in the hefty tome, and be greeted with both the answer and a mass of self-satisfaction!

i wasnt so sure what you meant by: ā€œrolling rollers to your alliances colour to obtain a higher scoreā€ :sob: . thanks for telling me about the ctrl+f command too, so helpful as i didnt know about it before!

@LeoT-10743B sorry, i get it now

After seeing the first game, I think a lot of games are just going to be rollers. However, truly high level play could make extensive use of match loads. Personally, I don’t see much use for the pins on the field other than auton.

I dont want it to turn out like the corners in high stakes but man I really wanna build a wallbot for the toggles

It will be probably similar to the corners; however, seeing the first couple of matches, many teams toggle then leave. I’m not sure if this was also high stakes early season tho

Yeah in high stakes people just camped the corners so it might not be a camping game again lol

Best strat: start the match by flipping you roller, it will take a second. Then go for prestacks and score them, then go as close to the loader as you can without violation.

Sorry for the vagueness, but I have no idea what your robot looks like. I suggest to have a Strategist on your team

With a passive mech you can start with your hook on the roller and just drive forward. Saves around 0.5 secs Im guessing

Think of your own (20char)

Starting in contact with the roller is illegal according to sg1c: ā€œNot contacting Goals, Loaders, Load Zones, or Togglesā€ is a requirement for starting the match, please stop giving advice on the game until you have read and understood the rules. You could have seriously screwed up a team by making them assume it’s legal and building their strategy based off that.

Thanks for reminding me. I would also have seriously screwed up had you not posted. I will be more careful reading the manual next time.

Alos toggles are scored after driver control, not auto.
