Robots here do score rings on the tall goal, however the way they do it probably wouldn’t work well outside of china. these robots set the tall goal down, and take their time carefully lining up and dropping the rings on, which seems to work in china where opponents for the most part ignore each other. I think if a team tried that here, their opponents would very quickly ram the team into the tall goal and knock the goal over, quickly foiling the plan to stack rings on it.

I noticed that the Chinese team who was placing the rings on the tall goal wasn’t doing it until the last 10 seconds of the match and they did it right next to their platform. I think that it is safe to do it their as an opposing alliance won’t risk getting an SG3 violation. As you pointed out in your thread:

As of now, it seems the only way to guarantee you won’t be penalized is to stay a good 4-5 feet away from your opponents platform in the last 30 seconds.

I think externally stacking on the tall gaol at the end of the match is a safe and viable strategy.
