It hasn’t been said officially from what I’ve seen but I think it remains at 8.
In actuality, if you place another cube in a tower both cubes would be void until one of them is knocked off
Correction: I checked and this only applies if you can have two cubes cross the scoring line of the tower, which is impossible, the rule above applies. If you stack an extra cube that doesn’t cross the scoring line then the extra cube counts for nothing.
???
<R17> exists.
It has absolutely been said officially, in the same place as always:
<R17> Robots use one control system. Robots may use either:
Option 1: A VEX ARM® Cortex®-based Microcontroller, up to ten (10) 2-Wire Motors or VEX Servos (in any combination up to ten) and a legal VRC pneumatic system per <R19>.
Option 2: A VEX ARM® Cortex®-based Microcontroller, up to twelve (12) 2-Wire Motors or VEX
Servos (in any combination up to 12) and no pneumatic components, excluding pneumatic tubing.
Option 3: A V5 Robot Brain, up to six (6) V5 Smart Motors, and a legal VRC pneumatic system per
<R19>.
Option 4: A V5 Robot Brain, up to eight (8) V5 Smart Motors, and no pneumatic components, excluding pneumatic tubing.
Only the cube which is crossing the scoring line in the cup of the tower counts, so having a cube on top of it makes no difference. The only time this is not true is in the rule @IsANerd mentioned
Hey,
Does anyone know when RVW (robot virtual worlds) will be out for Tower Takeover?
Thanks!
Last year, the TP RVW was released May 11th. I would expect at the earliest the TT RVW to release next weekend.
No , it shows in the VRC hub app, how only have a maximum of 7 cubes
Read the game manual
< R21> states that no modifications to electronic components are allowed. Does this rule forbid using non electrical parts of motors for applications in mechanisms, in particular, using the output gear from a 393 and its respective bushing as part of mechanisms outside of motors such as a bearing in a transmission.
Would using these parts fall under :“Most modifications and repairs to non-electrical components are allowed.”.
This should be asked in the Official Q&A as past rulings do not carry forward to current season. I say this because there is a context here, are you allowed to use 393 motor parts in a V5 robot? I am not sure.
As @lacsap said ask on the official forums, also in past seasons electronic components included the housing, and everything inside of the housing.
As many as you want- the rules don’t say anything about it
You would want to ask officially, but in the past it was ruled that using gears from the Turbo Gear set or the Motor 393 Refurb kit would be permitted since they have their own separate part number. No other components would be permitted, as it is considered part of the motors.
Ok, this might be a dumb question but here goes.
I’ve noticed you can pop the towers off their posts really quite easily. I could definitely see robots accidentally doing this when trying to score towers. What exactly would happen in this scenario?
It’s worth asking in the official Q&A but I’d say as long as it’s clearly an accident then you’ll probably just get a warning.
and if it is a pattern of “accidents” expect more warnings, or worse - damaging field so other can’t play… not cool.
I already posted a Q&A about this last week. Wanted to get a ruling before the start of the season.
Different scenario:
I’ve noticed you can pop the towers off their posts really quite easily. I could definitely see robots accidentally doing this when trying to score towers. What exactly would happen in this scenario?
In this one the towers cones come off their posts - suggesting that the clamping structure does not do enough to prevent sliding. I still do not have my game set, so can not beat it up in person yet.
Oh! Completely different than what I asked. I don’t have a game set either - but, in both cases, additional structure may mitigate.
