Tray tipping keeps striping gears

Our tray isn’t moving upward the gears will strip and then our tray is unmovable I’m not sure how to fix this

Can you send pictures? It’s hard to figure out what the problem is without images.

Is this helpful?

Are you using a red motor? Also, are the gears skipping as well? It could just be your spacing, or the angle that your tilter is at. A more helpful picture would be a picture of your tilter gearbox and how it’s connected to the tray.

i will take a picture but yes we have to motors powering the pinnion whitch then powers the green gear i will send a picture

So one problem is that your green gear is missing teeth. That might be a problem.49 PM

Yes but the pinnion does not contact that part of the gear

Then the only other thing I can think of is your spacing, and the surface area of contact between the teeth of the 2 gears. Also does your tilter move from side to side on the axle? Because that might cause it to lose its grip with the metal pinion.

I will try that thanks for your help

That’s a really ingenious way of push up the tray, going under the brain

That’s the only way we could find to mout it so it’s pretty cool

i would replace the gear and ziptie the 2 drive shafts together

What do you mean by zip tie the axles together

put a ziptie around the drive shafts so it stops bending of the drive shafts

you have to make it tight very very tight

no don’t ziptie. use hs axles instead, way better.

yeah but zipties can aslo help too.

they add a ton of friction and other bad things.
btw @4869Robotics a 1:5 ratio is probably too greedy for your tilter. try 1:7 instead.

true, but if you are in a hurry or dont have space for hs shaft and stuff. zip tie will do fine. you can put it on a spacer that moves too
