VEX Tower Takeover on ROBLOX Project

Most of the other people are focusing on designs for a robot. Why would they do that if they can just play Connor’s amazing Roblox game instead? But seriously, good luck on your exams.

I have reverted the robot’s physics to no longer use ROBLOX Physics.
The pros by doing this is:

  • It is impossible to glitch out of the field anymore
  • The controls are more responsive and follow the x and y axis much better
  • It is easier for me to add onto the physics, as I made it
  • I know what I am doing with my own physics, and not having to deal with ROBLOX’s crappy engine
  • Faster load/reset cycle
  • Drift is much more accurate to the one for VEX Robots

The cons by doing this:

  • Lag, lag lag!!! (I will need to have the robot contain less parts when driving)
  • Everything needs to be coded RAW physics
  • I will need to code my own impact engine, cube falling, etc. I will also need to code and work on robot-on-robot impacts too(Currently in the making, but kinda buggy).

This change will be for the greater good, as it will also likely result in the game to be finished quicker, as well as this will allow glitches to be troubleshooted easier. Also, if you use an XBox controller there will be haptic feedback for perimeter impacts.

Try it out yourself

Thanks Connor! This is an awesome project and the time you put into it is inspiring!

(But for @technik3k’s sake please let us know whether this hindered your finals. I’d hate to benefit from someone else’s loss :stuck_out_tongue:)

@2775Josh
It likely did, but grades don’t really matter much to me as it is just a number. It doesn’t determine what degree you will get and it and the career I want to pursue doesn’t really need anything special.
(I am happy with my grades, which is all that matters)
Hopefully this answers your question XD

Date I plan to be finished with this game:
June 20, 2019

Good to hear. I’m glad you’ve put so much work into this.

Looking forward to the finish!

Playable on XBOX?
20 char uch

the towers and blocks are there but will not make contact with the robot.
also anybody know how to load cubes on an xbox controller

this project is pretty neat! looking forward to seeing it once it’s completed

side note, a forum feature I didn’t know existed:

How can i get on the game

It says the permission level prevents me from entering

Is the game out already for public use?

The game says the permission levels keep me from entering

that insane!!!
how did you make this?

how can i play this?

Yea it still says this image

Yo do u have a discord where me and my friend could chat with u about this

Yes, you can contact me with my public email [email protected] or contact me via my discord “Hey, It’s Connor!#3027
I do plan on finishing the TT project. But, I plan to first finish a group project I am leading before getting back to the TT project:

Looking at this a cool feature to add would be making a code/custom robot on a computer and driving using said code on an Xbox or the like

There’s robotmesh mimic if you want.

Well well well, what do we have here? How convenient it must be that I started developing this game.
Starting tommorow, I’m going to be at full power to pump out a VEX Worlds on ROBLOX to give everyone an opportunity to compete. I’ll figure out how to make the awards and how to ship them, but this should give everyone who qualified the opportunity to enjoy a virtual experience.

Can I have developer? I’d like to see about biting off more than I can chew by making it possible to import entire solidworks assemblys as robots.

on second thought that sounds really hard
