This spreadsheet can be used to search for the match numbers of all matches containing the team number or region you’re looking for.
For example, if you have multiple teams you want to watch on the livestream, or if you want to watch all the teams from your own state or region, you can filter this spreadsheet to show which ones are likely to be coming up the soonest, based on what match each division was on the last time that I checked. (I’ll try to update it as often as I have time to, though my top priority is making sure my info for all the divisions is based on the same point in time, rather than one division being checked 5 minutes later than the others.)
To find all matches for Florida teams, for example, you can use the filters to show only matches where the Regions Playing column contains “Florida”, by following the instructions on the “How to Use” tab of the worksheet.
Here is the link:
You can also create a Custom Filter View, or make a copy of the sheet for yourself, to more easily use the filter.
So far, I only have match lists for V5RC high school, but there are also a set of tabs for the V5RC/VEX U divisions that will be competing this weekend, and I’ll move those to the beginning once the high school matches end. (I might create one for VEX IQ after that, too, though that would require a few more changes to the column layout.)
I chose the layout of each worksheet and then created formulas to pull information from other parts of the spreadsheet. I also made it so it could be updated pretty easily by copying and pasting each event’s team lists and each division’s match list into their respective workheets (and in some cases adding or deleting extra rows because of changes in the number of matches for each division, or because of the fact that Google Sheets in some cases seems to add an extra row to the beginning of what I paste.)
The source data comes from the CSV/XLS spreadsheet downloads of the match lists and team list on Robot Events, and a few sources for state and province abbreviations (listed on the States tab). In cases where I’ve added what the current match is, that usually comes from VEX Via or by watching the stream (and sometimes from Robot Events in the past). Any other info I add (such as the column on the high school team list where I added which teams won/made Division Finals in each division) would also come from Robot Events, VEX Via, or watching the stream (wherever I see it first).
I just finished updating the spreadsheet for V5RC Middle School, JROTC, and VEX U!
The worksheets for these are at the beginning of the workbook. (If you have trouble finding them, you can click the menu button to the left of the first worksheet tab you see and that will show a list of all the worksheets.)
The one with “MatchesByDiv” is sorted by division (with VEX U, then JROTC, then V5RC middle school), and the one with “MatchesByNumber” is sorted by which match would be happening the earliest in that event’s day (or if I update it mid-day, it would be which match is likely to come the soonest overall).
I also plan to make the VEX IQ versions during or after the first day of matches for that VEX IQ event (after the match list is posted to Robot Events).
Update: I’ve finished the VEX IQ pages for the match list spreadsheet! They’re located at the beginning of the spreadsheet.
Special thanks to @Jenica_Wilcox for her appreciative comments and request for a VEX IQ version from earlier in the thread that helped me stay motivated to finish it this morning! (I would’ve done it last night but I was near the end of a long antivirus scan and wanted to avoid disrupting it.)
