This situation sucks and I’d for sure be annoyed too. However, if we interpret the game manual as it’s written, since 550X never directly or transitively contacts the platform, there’s no violation. I don’t think the talk about “home team advantage” is necessary or helpful.
I have talked with the members on 2 of the teams in this match, as well as some members form other teams in attendance, and all of them confirmed that 550X had touched the platform. The view from the video makes it kind of hard to tell though.
And as per the other comment, this was mainly echoing seasons of events that I have attended and stories I have heard from other competitors in my region. Let’s just say there was a definite reason why certain actions were taken by certain teams after this event.
We lost our usb stick with all the code on it at our last competition. Luckily we had backups but they were pretty out of date at the time. Lesson learned: backup even more frequently
We are so sorry about that the team that did it is very sorry and hopes it will never happen again.
It was one of our teams and it was not intended to break the intake and are very sorry about it and hopes ot never happens again they were just messing around with no intentions of breaking it.

Getting BO1d in the finals
After a recent tournament, I would like to add another. In our first qualifiers match, we were going up against two rather similar bots to our own. We were allied with a unique bot, from my memory. About 30 seconds into driver control, we went over to go grab a goal, but saw an opposing alliance bot charging at us, so I turn towards them, and they begin pushing our wheels off the ground. They then did not back off, and went as far pushing us completely over. We had no rear righting mechanism. And the best part? The head Ref said they didn’t apparently see it. After rewatching that match at home from online, they were clearly watching me get flipped over. They were holding a neutral goal, so I’m sure through the whole complex defense-offense rule it was fair.
Also I don t know what I was thinking when I was writing the original reason when I was upset, because I knew that all the matches were pre-set, so I just now have to look at me saying We wErE pUt aganst Best boboTICS team CUZ We Obiusly GuD
annoyed that every time we loose a tourney i think of like 30 things i could fix to make it so we had won. I Our robot is just being finished right before state. The worst thing of this was that for one tournament we just kept getting rings stuck, even with ring guards.
Are refs allowed to watch their own stream replays during states

6 of our teammates did not have a auton and 1 of them (the 4th seed at the end of the tournament) did not get their win point and we did(we were 14th) we sill went 6-1 which I was happy about.
Our team had been doing the best we had ever done. We were in the quarterfinals, and we were doing well. We had parked on the platform a little early, about 45 seconds instead of 30, then the other team tipped the platform, and instead of just sliding of the platform, it caused us to completely fall over. If we hadn’t been tipped we would have been able to hold onto our goals, and win the match. It was close even though we fell over, so we would have definitely won. On top of that, the judge had somehow mistook the other teams bot for our alliance, and he determined that it was our teammates fault we tipped over. We checked the recording later on, and we confirmed that it indead had been the other alliance team to tip us over.
Why did they make this rule a thing? It seems so counterintuitive, and it seems like it would only end up in less informed decisions.
- It would take too long with everyone insisting the Ref look at this video and that video ten times.
- You can never have enough cameras to see the moment perfectly.
I’m not saying I agree with it, but those are the stated reasons. I think maybe pictures should be allowed, though. Or maybe they could say refs can review footage of and Elimination match.
