My team is 53rd in world skills and I was wondering is there a number as to the top ___ skills scores qualify to worlds
The top 10 teams that have not qualified for worlds will qualify.
What about any worlds double qualifications?
What about them? The Qualifying Criteria is pretty clear on how teams can qualify for the World Championships
That’s awsome your 53rd in the world! Unfortunately world skills usually doesn’t really matter, it really comes down to your own state and whos qualified and who hasn’t .
That is untrue, the top 10 in the world are qualified for worlds as long as you are still in the top ten my the 20th of march. That’s is when the standings are finalized.
What about double qualifications? Does it work the same way as it does for state, where the rest of the spots are filled with teams from the top skills list?
The qualifying criteria specifies the top 10 unqualified teams will receive an invite on March 20th, 2023. I made a spreadsheet that shows which teams would receive invites if they were sent out today, but these numbers should be taken with a huge grain of salt, since many Event Region Championships will occur over the next two weeks.
Is the list provided “live” - as in it updates itself automatically as new scores come in, etc. or does it rely on someone to manually refresh the list every once in awhile?
The skills data and worlds roster is pulled automatically from my CSV frontend for the RobotEvents API, so it should update automatically. I’ve noticed that google sheets will refetch this data about once a day on your own client, and the results are stored locally. I believe there is a way to clear the cache and refetch from the API as well.
I track it on the website that I publish along with my best estimate (based on Sig Events/States/etc.) of who is already qualified:
Great work done.
Just a point of info - 8076A has qualified for worlds as Excellence Award winner for SIngNat.
Maybe they have not officially registered for worlds yet though.
Yeah right now I have to use the worlds roster as a proxy for teams who qualify to worlds because the only alternative is tracking every qualification, so it’s gonna miss the teams who have qualified but have not registered.
Hi, sorry to bother, but your list no longer shows a proper list, but just has a singular “N/A” entry. May I know if this is just an error on my side, or has something happened to the list? Thanks.
bruh, I am the team captain of 11045A, which is currently 11th on the Middle School skill invitation list. Is there a chance that Vex invites more than 10 teams from world skill standings, say 20 teams?
Of course. There is also a chance you die in a drive-by crossbowing at 8:39am tomorrow.
Does US open have any qualifying awards?
The US Open is not a qualifying event, and does not qualify teams to worlds
Interestingly, according to this spreadsheet you guys will qualify for worlds, but physically looking yesterday I found that you guys were 11th in line and would not qualify.
This is because it’s the top ten unqualified teams. If the 1st place team has already qualified through other means, then teams 2-11 will get the invite.
