Dinner - tonight we had Hops Hen right by Omni - quick Nice staff - hey can’t go wrong when favorite VEXU head ref Zea there with her crew! For my team, it was time to get real and as Zea pointed out “behavioral adjustment time!” - we are here to have fun! Place is quick turn around - not fine dining… Depends on your teams needs.

This first year for club here - but depends on so many factors.
Before this thread fades completely to discussion of the new, I would like to commend the RECF and all the hard work of the worlds organizers and volunteers. My team had a great experience. The logistical mastery was impressive. Every match in my division and the ones I dropped into in other divisions was spot on time (ok, within a minute, but dang.) Referees were on point, emcees added detail and insight, not just talk. And that is just the sharp end of the spear pointing at the participant experience – there is, I am sure, vastly more going on in the background.
Thanks to those organizing the event, it was great! I will @DanMantz and hope this trickles down.

How did you make this?
I use a Mac application called OmniGraffle. It is a straightforward program to build illustrations. I get the VRC Game logos from VEX website, the Southern New England dot map is one FineDesigns made for one of our regional champions, the game render is from VEX as well. We print the banners at StickerBanners - as well as our events schedule poster. This year it looks like this:

Actually it’s by VEX Graphics FOR Fine Designs 
Actually it is not. we tried to get there new regional dot graphic used for championship banners to no avail from VEX/usaimages who does the banners, so we worked with FineDesigns (the custom shirts people) to produce a graphics for our event shirts similar to the championship ones. They produced a similar one, but all the dots are at an angle vs side to side.
We have been getting better at making banners and shirts that capture the spirit of VRC competition.
(for clarification we went through the Banner people who told us that VEX would not share the graphic files… however, in many cases VEX design team has been awesome at helping us get field renders to use. In this particular case, I had gotten through to the right people…)
I did a bit of looking around and I couldn’t find an easy way to access each regions dot pattern. What would be the best way to get these designs?

I really wish some of those assets were released, the simplified vector images of the game objects would be super useful for a lot of things. As it is I’m stuck recreating them myself for our graphics and… a skilled artist I am not.
My two-man team loved that idea, but we just wore caps and put pins on them, we spotted you and thought it was interesting.
