Where will worlds move to?

In my opinion it’s either most likely going to go 1 of 2 ways. Either they will do the contract once more in Kentucky or go back to there original spot of Texas.
Why these two?

Kentucky: They may want to extend their contract because it’s a decent location.

Texas: Where home base is at for VEX. AKA much less travel for them.

How about McCormick Place in Chicago?

Let’s try Phoenix. I don’t want to have to pay $1500 to go

That’s not even remotely realistic. The Phoenix Convention Center is the only venue around here that might have the space for Worlds, but parking in downtown Phoenix… yeah, no.

But but but…

I’m feeling Nampa Idaho

No offense, honest. I would never let our team kids go to Phoenix. I went to a one week conference in August there to teach and came home with Valley Fever from simply breathing the air. Would never want someone to go through that, especially form other countries.

You are right the biggest place we have is in downtown
So…
we would have to rent the whole building

Amundsen-Scott research station, Antarctica

we got the the Von Braun Center in Alabama and the space and rocket center as a replacement for Kentucky Kingdom???

I’d hate for people to experience red neck central but roll tide

I like to travel with friends, so please far enough to take a plane ride.

and I hate planes. Please bring worlds to Hawaii.

So… I learned that it’s supposed to have next year be the last year here in Louisville, then we’ll hear a new one some time in the future this summer.

@thejeffnagle Don’t forget about the use of the Convention Center as well as Lucas Oil. Tons of space for all of the teams to compete and then hold championship rounds in Lucas Oil.

I think everyone can get behind that!

No arena and only one hotel within reasonable distance (from what I have been told).

Arena: https://wintrustarena.com/
Hotels: 25 Hotels TRULY CLOSEST to McCormick Place Chicago, IL | HotelGuides.com

Arena just opened in 2017, so probably didn’t exist when they looked before.

At 10,000 seats, WinTrust is about half the size of Freedom Hall (~19,000 seats) which is already pretty much full on Saturday afternoon. That’s probably a non-starter.

Chicago is also a notoriously difficult city to host conventions in, not to mention terrible traffic and being quite expensive. I live in the Chicago suburbs so it would be convenient for me but I don’t really see it happening.

Hey Salt Lake City has the Salt Palace Convention Center with plenty of hotels in the surrounding area. The airport is a Delta hub so plenty nonstop flights here and we have Lagoon just 20 minutes north for a replacement of Kentucky Kingdom.

we also have Vivint Smart Home Arena near by
