I am sure to many of us (maybe the majority) would take wed as the 1st official day and not thurs.
i meant like mentally worlds started on thursday for me at least. my mentality was different on thurs compared to wednesday that I guess mentally i thought that worlds started on thurs.
for wednesday my schedule was go to school as normal, be in robotics room for like 3ish hours, leave for worlds, 2-3ish hour drive, get inspected at 4? not sure, explore talk to teams, leave for hotel at 6? i think, not sure

Although I have never been to worlds, Wednesday is probably quite helpful for most teams. Being able to fix any autonomous problems you have (with the field beings slightly different) and fixing any small things that may have happened over transit. Of course you do have to account for the fact that it will cost more, but given your team is okay with the greater expense I imagine the extra day to be beneficial. And then afterwards you might even be able to have some time to relax to be mentally prepared for the big day or adventure around Louisville for fun.
As long as travelling from half way across the world won’t be a problem, than any place would be good

this is super late, but the biggest reason i could see for moving it out of kentucky is all the trouble vex has to go through transporting all the products and employees from greenville to louisville. Because of this i wouldnt be entirely surprised if they moved it someplace closer to them

VEX Worlds 2020 will most likely be in Louisville, KY again, but what about Worlds 2021?

Honestly I don’t see anything wrong with KY. Although it would be a lot cheaper for our team if it was held in Texas, It looses the experience of getting to fly and visit somewhere new.
I voted for Seattle only because it had no votes. Jeez, guys, we can dream can’t we?

Kentucky is good. I doubt there is a better/equal convention center in the center of the US which would be ideal to provide about an equal drive time for all US teams. I wouldn’t consider hosting Worlds out of the US due to flying costs for the majority of teams, possibly limiting participation for a worldwide competition. (This is also why I don’t think a Singapore signature event would be feasible, but you guys probably know more about Singapore than I do.)
I don’t think it is feasible to have the worlds outside USA as well… but most of the international teams are just hoping that we can save a bit on the cost and remove the hassle of domestic flights (and all the missing luggage as well) by shifting the venue to the west coast 
As for Singapore signature event… think we are hoping that we will attract some China teams, which some of them have been flying over to join us for singvex and also some Australia and NZ teams. Realistically, we don’t see any US or Europe teams coming over.
I see. All I heard was Singapore signature event and immediately thought, nah. As long as there are around 100 medium-caliber teams spread across that region you’ll be good.
