Hmmm. Can’t go around,
can’t go under, above it is!
I hope we get something that makes claw bots the meta.
I’m gonna guess that we get a non-zero-sum game. They alternate every year, so I’m sure this is a good bet.
This has the connotation that claw bots haven’t been the meta in past years. As long as you have the magic ones in the game reveal videos, you can’t lose.
So stupid of me to not consider simply levitating balls and cubes. Man I’m an idiot.
I’ve always pushed and hoped for 3 things, if any 1 comes I would be very happy.
Kind of already mentioned, but I would LOVE a neutral hanging structure, colored purple too. The scoring I’ve always wanted is horizontal posts to score on, almost imagine Skyrise but the posts would be sideways.
And finally, a ‘changeable’ goal. Where maybe you would need to unlock access to a goal before being able to use it, a spinning goal structure, or even a team specific goal that can change teams.
Those are what I want, but honestly, I doubt I’ll see them by the time I graduate.
Me mentro always talks about how he would like a game with movable objects. He said that one year, BEST had a spinning platform in the middle of the field.
In FRC 1997, there was a game that encompassed two of your wants for a game. There was a cylinder in the middle of the field with sticks coming out horizontally from it. The entire scoring structure rotates when it is bumped (like a non-powered merry-go-round), and at the beginning of the match, a person gives it a big spin. You have to put these little circular inflatables on the sticks coming out of the cylinder in the middle to score points.
I think that your ideas would be cool for a VEX game, and I also think that a game with huge game objects that are almost as big as the robots would be cool (like VEX IQ Rise Above…).
Its most likely going to be revolving around stacking, based upon a pattern a team member pointed out. Personally, something equivalent to foam Jenga or stacking odd-shaped blocks would be fun to drive around in.
I would just like to have at least 2 game peices. change up and tower takeover both only had one game piece, imo 2 or more different peices makes for much more variety and interesting robots.
I also hope that it’s some kind of stacking/lifting game, since I haven’t had to opportunity to build a competitive lift, since the last game where big lifts were the best competitive option was itz and I was not good at building back then.
@trontech569 has been typing for a long time. Should we be scared?
Probably should be ((
Yes. I’m about to blow your minds. (although I have been reworking my comments several times)
I’m all for a hanging element. Think about it:
The incredible V5 system comes out, a system so powerful that its lopsided release almost guarantees wins to any team that gets it when it is released (of course, that problem was mostly gone by Worlds).
Now, a couple years later, we haven’t had a single game with a hanging element. Teams created Cortex robots with the much weaker 393 motors that could manage a hang at the end of a match several years ago.
Traditionally, hanging elements have been used as an end game. But what if these immensely powerful V5 motors were used in a game that didn’t just use hanging as an end game, but used it integrally throughout an entire match? What if hanging was something that teams need to be able to do in a match to collect game elements, score, and win?
I think that this would create a different type of game for VRC, in which your robot has to be strong enough and light enough to hang constantly and consistantly. We haven’t really had any games like that.
Hmmm. Like a stacking game, but with a expansion height limit (although I hate those)? That would be interesting, since you’d have to climb objects while holding the pieces… That sounds kinda fun.
A hanging or swinging game is actually cool. Auton would be a fun challenge and driving would just be fun when you get used to the contols

For the third, kind of like Skyrise with the making the tower before stacking on it?
What if there was a kind of ladder that you could climb.
However this would probably be hard to implement or there would be a weight limit on robots due to the issue of the (usually plastic) game elements being somewhat flimsy
Kind of like that yeah, you could think of it that way.
Yeah, I could get behind that.
