Chamfered cube would lowkey be tuff ngl
Donut Holes, considering highstakes was rings and push back is a blocky but rounded block/cube it would be kind of funny if we called them donut holes.
so close⌠(Itâs fine)
Personally I want octoblocks. Sounds better than octocubes and they really arent âballsâ
Ok, but FRC doesnât have defense. While precision alignment is a feature of a strafing bot, a faster, better pushing bot can negate that advantage.
How are you supposed to get the Chamfer out of the loaders. Also in the reveal video there are some Chamfers that are not on the field can we load them like in over under?
What are we calling the scoring areas? I propose we call them âtroughsâ.
Ftcâ frc but I see what youâre saying (ftc actually has even less defense). it would still be interesting to try, I think itâs possible that mechanums would still have be viable this year even with the defense issue. weâll have to wait until the game manual comes out to know for sure.
Over on Discord, they want the blocks to be called dihs as they are double isohedral heptahedrons. Octoballs is a much better name though.
do we think that the normal height and width constraints for VexU will be the same?
I noticed in the video there were 12 octoballs per color on the sideline any idea what those are for
They said in the walkthrough that it would be tied to expansion⌠I wouldnt get my hopes up that those bots will be viable without some serious tradeoffs.
I assume itâs team load I donât know if I missed this in the video or if they left it out but I assume that a member of the drive team can load your robot with a cube when itâs in its alliance parking zone similar to older vex games each alliance starts with a certain amount of cubes
These are match loads. A member of your team places the match loads in the tubes once there is under 6 octoballs in it. You may also refer to footage from Over Under, as it had a match load system similar to Push Back.
Nah they said 8. Itâs kind of a random number tho, I donât see why they didnât make half the criteria worth half the pointsđ¤ˇââď¸
They probably made it less than half because itâs a lot harder to successfully coordinate with your alliance member to get both robots into the zone than it is to just drive one robot in there.
I think âtubesâ or even âscoring tubesâ would just be simpler and easy to remember, considering they are literally tubes that you score in.
I am so excited for this years game. Do you think they will keep the no possession limit?
I am 3d printing it right now.
I think its here to stay. Unless someone finds a game-breaking way of abusing it they wont remove it.
