It occurs to me that in order for the balls to be wedged like this, the balls must be of a smaller diameter than 6.3" (and @turbodog you said so yourself in post #3, your balls’ diameter at the seam is 6.1", more than the given 0.1" margin of error).
Perhaps this is the problem, as @turbodog has measured balls to be off by greater than the margin of error stated in appendix A. (Again, refer to post #3). This problem has clearly resulted in others, but maybe there is a fix?
If you carefully look at the pictures, the balls do not reach the halfway point, they wedge before this, before the diameter reaches its maximum.
What am I going to do about it? I’m not on the GDC.

i mean no disrespect to vex or the gdc. vex is a huge part of my life i joined in 2017 and after ringmaster my life was never the same i spend an average of 35 hours building/coding/driving robots not to mention vf or vex based discord and those hours only go up as the season progresses this is my forth year i am a officer in our schools club and will probably be prez this year i walk around school wearing vex merch proudly and I LOVE vex.
but with that said change up continues to disappoint me. from my whole alliance and many others getting the game leaked early. to skills being maxed in two weeks. to the game elements being 500 dollars and them using zip ties to secure things. to one of my goal sticks straight up breaking when i shot a ball at it and now this. i have been let down i know it is two late to change a lot of this but this is not what we have come to expect from the number 1 robotics system.

We put a screw into the side of the ball, tied a string from the ball to a 4m bot, and pulled. Ball came out at about 3/4 throttle.
The angle from the ball to the pipe does not allow a lever to function. You will hit the side wall well before the lever does much good.
