I noticed in the photos that there is a limit switch behind the indexer arm. what is its use there?

Looks to me like it is a switch being used to stop the motor when it reaches the mechanical limit of the index mechanism… A limit switch if you will : )

The link I posted was for a 12” by 24” plastic sheet. This is the maximum allowed plastic for a vrc robot so you only need 1 per team.

Probably should get more so if you mess up cutting it you have spares

Or if you want to revise your design. Prototyping can mostly be done with cardboard, but yeah, it’s not that expensive, so you may as well get a couple spares.

Do I have to use #64 rubber bands or can I also use #32?

You can use whatever you want, as long as the force applied by the rubber bands works for the mechanism.

We tried building the pusher/intake combo but the pusher at the start was just completely blocking the disc from reaching the flywheel and there wasn’t any realistic way to get the disc in front of the pusher using the intake with any amount of plastic as there just wasn’t enough space.
We tried pushing the pusher farther back to match what we saw on the video or even farther back, but the pusher was just moving back and forth under the disc, basically it never managed to push the disc to the flywheel after getting collected by the intake. Any tips or help would be great.

Sounds like you are referencing what you saw in the video. Did you download and look at the cad file?

Yes, I have followed the CAD file as well, in fact I mostly used the CAD file.

can i get all the measurements for the polycarbonate plates like all the angles and length and width

All polycarbonate used on this robot came from the VRC Change Up field. Either consult Appendix A of the Game Manual for that season, or the CAD file of this robot for the appropriate measurements.

You can check in the cad for the sizes and angles of polycarb. If you for some reason can’t open the cad, you can always just eyeball it.

Question. I see that the flywheel has rubber bands on it… how often do they break? I had a flywheel like that and they broke a lot I’m just wondering what your experience with it was.

how do i know how much of the gear to shave for the indexer and how much holes do i put the sandoff for the punch and the rubber band apart on the slide?
