Most unusual vex robot you have ever built or seen

Last year we saw a VexU team that had a robot with a triangular chassis swerve drive. They had a double flywheel that rotated on all 3 axis and could control the spin of the discs by changing the speed of the 2 flywheels. They also had Lidar and ran everything off the Jetson Nano, basically just using the Brain as an interface between the vex parts and the Jetson. Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures of their bot, and I believe they had significant technical issues with their Jetson not turning on sometimes. But it was a really cool robot.

New Meta: Leaf Blower Bot

This sounds super cool. Any possibility you might know someone with a video? It sounds amazing.

Found this one on YouTube. The team is ghost. Unfortunately, they’re flywheel wasn’t working in any of their matches,

Some of the best places to see their bot that I found was 2:25:00, 3:22:00, 4:46:40 and 5:31:00.

Yesssss, this is such a meme in robotics.

On the topic of Kalahari Classic, the engineer on my team last year had an idea that judges considered “strange”. We got create and judge awards, as well as going to state.

4:53:48, we were on the far side from the camera.

Thats just a pushbot though, right?

I feel like we can’t leave this one out.

And on top of the accomplishment of building this, it was coded with block code!

The first robot i built in open

Well, that one’s a no brainer
(badum tss)

the tetrahedral tensegrity chassis idea is pretty cool, but I don’t know if it’s ever been built or used in a match
