When a completely rookie FTC team inspires a VRC meta…

Op robot, I really think this style of shooter will become meta.

Can you explain why use guys are using a black flex wheel

I would guess it is for more compression on their flywheel.

the grey ones expand much easier at high rpms which we assumed would make the flywheel less consistent. Also the black one looks drippy :sweat_drops: :sweat_drops: :sweat_drops:

Do you have any problems with running out of air on your indexer. How many actuation can you get off before it out.

No, it would very easily last an entire match. We tested it and were able to get over 50 activations on a single acting double reservoir.

Does the hard wheel still have a good grip/compression on the disc? Do you think this could be improved with a softer flex wheel like 45A, where it would not expand as much but would have more grip?

Also, how much rpm loss did you guys experience when shooting 3 discs rapidly?

that would not work for a skills run for 60 disks though

how did u get the curved poly to be so nice on the shooter

Why 2 motors on the intake? Couldn’t you just salvage one motor and then use the motor on the indexer (50 might be enough for a match, but you never know)?

How did you get curve on the flywheel?

Any plans for endgame? If you don’t want to divulge anything you could just like. Also great job in building in 24 hours

Wow, this design is so amazing. Can you reveal some pictures of the robot?

Through the singular test that we did, we got out 64 actuations before running out of air. Obviously it could be optimized further but, even as is, it’s very viable.

Yeah, we actually planned on powering an expansion mech by running the flywheel backwards with some sort of ratcheting mechanism. We didn’t quite have time for it in the 24 hours but there is lots of room underneath the flywheel to build something.

I personally wouldn’t change anything about the flywheel. That thing is a beast.

As for compression, just tuning the outer curve which holds the disc in contact with the flywheel is important. We found that adding a strip of the anti-slip mat to this siding worked wonders.

As seen in the video, it can very easily shoot 3 discs rapidly with very minimal, if any, rpm drop.

how did you bend that 1x1 that holds the frisbees
