Tipping Point Meta

Ignore the wonky tread.
As for wheel choice, these posts aren’t like the goals in CU or in TT- you can only score on one side, on the elbow parts. I’m thinking mecanums so you can strafe over to that side, but still have enough torque to get on the platforms.

Has anyone found if there is a limit to the number of rings that can be held?

No limit for rings and no limit for amount of mogos.

That has potential if you widen it. To be competitive you would need to think beyond merely ‘plucking’ the rings one by one. On a more competitive basis you will need to find a way to ‘sweep up’ multiple rings at the same time and mechanically arrange them into a stack that can swiftly score all at once with speed and mechanical precision.

Or maybe a flex wheel intake. So many choices. Plus a claw could be for like very limited use like one motor with a neumatic actuated claw used to put rings on the high mobile goal.

So maybe you could use like a chassis rail or something attached to two different tank treads linked together.

Would x drive be better than meccan so you can get a little better grip for climbing? Or can you climb sideways with Meccan?

I think a good starting point would be looking at some designs that are used in VEX IQ Ringmaster
This has good opportunity as a starting point:

See, that’s the problem. The rings are pringle shaped, so it’d be hard to do that. I still think it could work. I was hoping no one would post this because I think it could be very viable. This is what I did ringmaster season, and it worked

At the same time

The rings are bigger than expected so you have some room under to grab them.

Just half formed thoughts

My initial thoughts, a Ringmaster robot mixed with an ITZ MOGO lift.

Nice! Would it be able to get high post?

It would be able to get the high posts with some modifications and the two extra motors or Pneumatics.

Here is the meta. Build instructions too. https://content.vexrobotics.com/docs/21-22/tipping-point/Moby-BI.pdf

If you put a small cascade lift under the ramp and had a small lock you could in theory lift it high enough to score on the tall goals.

Hoarding has a really specific definition. I think it’s all going to come down to the last 30 seconds of play and getting mobile goals onto those platforms. if you can get 4 goals up there, ignoring all rings, you’re looking at a bonkers number of points (160??)

What if you could get 5 mobile goals on the bridge?

I know that this would be incredibly difficult, but it would also be incredibly difficult to beat if someone did manage to pull it off.
