That makes sense, I don’t think that is enough for even a 2 stage cascade.
That’s right I’m asking for support at my school to get more pieces
But there is little interest
what do you mean by a skyrise intake?
I think he means something like the intake in this video 10Q VEX Skyrise Worlds Reveal - YouTube
I’m not sure that intake would work too well on TT cubes since they’re not hollow like Skyrise cubes were. There were several types of intake that were popular in Skyrise; I think the most adaptable to TT is the type shown in this video, since most of the other popular intakes relied on reaching through the hollow center of the cube in some way.
You are correct, I realized earlier and changed the link
Yes, that was one of my original ideas.
However, the one I was talking about above involved a one conveyor belt-type system using tank treads.
The problem is that these cubes should be applied as we saw vertically and at the time of taking them these can fall is needed as a support to avoid this, I thought of an entry like this:VRC Tower Takeover 2381Y 1m Intake Leeks - YouTube

I understand how an intake system would work for Skyrise, but for this competition, how would you output the cubes orderly so they don’t knock over the stack when placing them?
That is also my question
But isn`t this game quite similar to ITZ? (Not from the scoring, but with stacing cubes). What was the cone intake just needs to be made bigger to intake cubes instead , and where the mobile goals rested you could stack the cubes as there is no possesion limit.
Because the cubes don’t stack inside one another in ITZ, how would u carefully place cubes on top of each other without knocking over your stack?
Honestly, I’ve been really putting some thought into how to make an efficient lift that will hold big stacks… My teacher recently came back from Worlds and he mentioned on the way back at the airport he saw a vertical lift that had a chain… he suggested looking into it so I did. I found that these lift are actually very common especially for indoor constructions and whatnot, since they can be built small and can expand very high to change a light bulb for example. As i continued my research for the lift and to see if its even possible (which it obviously is) I found that skyrise had similar designs to a vertical lift with a chain. I just wanted to know if y’all think this would be a good design (even if its for the first few competitions). Thanks!
You mean a chain bar.
yes thats exactly what I mean. I read most of the conversation rn and noticed that some people were already thinking in that direction. I just dunno if it would be ideal since the stacking the cubes would require a lot of stability
No, a chain bar isn’t going to be a good option for this game for the vast majority of cases. For one the chain can be prone to snapping under heavy loads (the cubes can get heavy pretty quick) and it also doesn’t expand straight up and down. This, more often than not, will start to result in tipping as it moves your cog a significant amount while the lift is moving.
Gotcha… Any recommendations on researching a different intake or lift system?
