Update: 2020 VEX Robotics World Championship is Canceled

nationals…
you mean US Open?

Yes the Us open (20 char)

F for all the Senior Teams who cant go to their Senior Worlds

I don’t see any reason as to why the CREATE US Open should remain open and a go. It’s as much as a safety and health concern as Worlds, and it’s the ethical thing to do to limit those amounts of social gatherings.

now the only question is whether or not Canada Open will stay

Cant lose at worlds if worlds gets cancelled

@DanMantz I was wonder if you guys (RECF) will get your money back for the venue. I know these things cost a huge amount of money and I was if you guys will lose a substantial amount of money due to the cancellation.

Will there be any consideration given to raising the age restrictions and changing the high school curricula rule to allow this year’s seniors compete next year?

When will next years game reveal be

This was the year man. We got the announcement while we were making the worlds rebuild, got a huge CAD and a notebook with upwards of 300 pages. IT WAS THE DAMN YEAR

100% guarantee they had insurance for this.

I feel you

First time qualifying. 2000 hours put in this year. Senior year. Rip the 3 year dream.

What about game reveal?

Everyone stop ASKING ABOUT THE GAME REVEAL! There is no reason to believe they would drop it early, and no, NO ONE KNOWS WHENS ITS COMING OUT. They will tell us when they decide to!

Thank you for the update. This is our last year competing in VRC, and although we are disheartened by the situation, we do appreciate all that you and the RECF have done for us by presenting the opportunity to compete in this competition. We were the first ever team from our high school to qualify for VEX Worlds, and since then our robotics program has grown immensely. We’ve grown to 7 teams from 4 teams our freshman year, ran our district’s first ever robotics summer camp, and served as mentors for the underclassmen.

Tower Takeover was a fun game, and we did have our own ups and downs (transmission be like). Yet, from it we have gained so much knowledge, experience, and most importantly memories. We would not be where we are today without the VEX Robotics Competition.
We had a good run. We thank you all for making our 4 years in high school something to remember.

How convenient that I haven’t qualified, but inconvenient for those who did.
Anyways, this is up to y’all but can we please please please have a livestream in appreciation and to virtually connect each other in one distinct moment similar to worlds?

There are no words to define how disappointed I am…
I spent 2 weeks programming 10 hours a day only to see that worlds is cancelled…
There is a black hole where my soul used to be.

Maybe something like 929U with their “Best of VEX” video. The RECF doesn’t even need to do that. It can be a student thing

Alright. Since I have two free weeks as my school is cancelled due to Coronavirus, might as well try to make something out of it.
I’m going to be busy, so give me some time to figure out how to get a working game and system:
