This seems like a great idea until you run into the issue of raised arenas…
Not many teams have the space for that sort of thing. I’m already going edge to edge of the room
yeah thats why i said this might be a problem logistically
I think it would be really fun though. Maybe put walls inside of the perimeter itself to create the same idea or something?
I’d like to see them be creative with the robot placement at the start of each match, since Vex is transitioning away from colored tiles.
I think that they might just be replacing the colored tiles with colored electrical tape but that’s just an idea.

Not a fan of the shooting games since that really means putting up nets to catch the balls.
Ease of tear down and setup is a key thing, we run a 6 month season so that’s 26 build sessions and then events. I pretty much was in tears over the net in last years game.
I’d like to see more driving skills, maybe a wall between sides that’s 20" wide that robots need to drive through.
I like cooperation bonus, in an IQ thread there was discussion about the balance bridge, that would be an interesting addition, that means being able to move the bridge and since it’s not that wide to be able to drive across it.
I’d also like to see more vision usage. Maybe the “registration kit” that has a game element in it that comes from RECF could have a vision sensor in it for new teams.
Shooting game will be cool since you have
Catapult
Puncher
Flywheel
and lots of other shooters that can make the design interesting like turning point and nothing but net.

King of the hill. A mountain made out of the platforms from Turning Point, and the top is worth 15 per robot, next is 12 per robot, then 10, then 5, then zero for not being on a platform at all.
Maybe if you had red and blue game objects that robots could carry to the top with them for points…
Guys, you’re looking at this all wrong. What I would like to see is a, like, a shooting game where you have, like, health, and if you get hit enough it depletes. But there would also need to be an objective, like maybe they use those VEX flags to have shooting capture the flag.
I feel like that would get boring.
One Word: SWING GAME
my bad, two words.
a ring toss game with a point value based on the height of the post there on. along with something similar to the platforms or the chin up bars, an objective that you have to do last.
I think it’ll be a back and forth game, we have two categories, point sum (ps) and back and forth (bf). The order has been NBN(ps) SS(bf) ITZ(ps) TP(bf) and TT(ps) if the order continues it’ll be a back and forth game
An idea I had for a game element would be thin, flat planks that you had to pick up and put into slots.

Thoughts on Tower Takeover?

Balancing game (similar to FTC Block Party from several years ago) but with 2 or 3 different sized or shaped game elements. Each shape or size would have a different weight as well. Baskets on the end of a teeter-totter; one for each alliance. Alliances have to fill the baskets, more points awarded for balanced teeter-totter. Limit the number of game elements controlled at one time (no hoarding). End game could be a high basket to score objects during final 15 to 20 seconds.
