It really doesn’t matter - as long as it is representative of your team and people can recognise that this is your pit.
Banners are good to make your team number more prominent and also a good way to acknowledge your sponsors (if any).
But it is not a deal breaker. My teams stopped bringing banners for many years (it took up quite a bit of our precious luggage space (we need to fly in from a long way).
And once you are seeded, some how teams will always managed to locate you with or without a banner
I was thinking about making a new thread, but I thought posting it here would be most fitting.
I was wondering if anyone has already made a program that takes team numbers (Not IDsR) and grabs the Skills and Teamwork Top scores from a list of teams. (That was terribly explained but I do not know how else to explain it) If no one made one, can anyone point me in the right direction. (I am a C# Unity Developer so dumb it down for me) Any help would be appreciated.
I have two questions about worlds. I remember FRC worlds in the past had a big outside area for the students to participate in will VEX do the same, if they do anything like this does anyone have a list or schedule of other activities that will take place other than the world championship? My other question is that worlds in the past has let people pre order shirts or merchandise through VEX apparel will that be happening this year as well and if so does anyone have the link?
Again, all these that I will be saying are based on pre-covid and in different venues.
There were no schedule of other activities. But usually there will be exhibits going on in the hall. Exhibits by sponsors and also by some organisations, etc. And normally there will be some form of hands-on activities to engage the students.
The VEX Store area used to be another area that the students have fun in - hexbugs, etc.
And in Lousiville, there used to be areas in the hall that the students can have some unstructured plays, eg. frisbees, etc.
As for merchandise - yes… VEX Store and VEX apparel will usually setup stores there. But it was always a long queue for the apparel.
It is my team’s first time going to worlds, and we have so many questions. How do teams transport their robots? Plane? Shipping? How do you decorate pits? Candy? Bracelets? Stickers? What do people wear? Plan clothes? Custom Shirts? Random Costumes? Custom jackets? Custom Hats? IDK? Do you have any downtime? How do fundraise? Door-to-Door? Gift Gards? Ask for money? I would love some help, to have my teams get to VEX IQ 2022 Worlds Pitching In!
Reading the FAQ, it says that it’ll be broadcast on VEX TV. Is there a way to cut/record from there, or (if you want to take a video of your match) do you have to record yourself?
Depends on whether you want to wear it in Dallas or not. If you don’t need/want it in Dallas, you can order it online and have it shipped to you. I believe that the in-person store has more customization options than are available through the website (team numbers, names, state/country flags, etc.), so consider that as well.
