The TT skills were diverse but watching some of the TP skills were insane, especially the autons.
Personally, I’d love to see the auton line removed. Some of the innovations to deal with suicide autons were insane. I remember seeing a video of 5225A getting pushed way off course and still stacking in the 20 during auton, and that was probably the coolest VRC thing I’ve ever seen.
I think it’s here to stay. Because the spirit of autonomous is to try and create an impressive and elaborate auton route, not just drive forward and point your bot at your opponents. I’m glad gdc implemented the line.
that said, the line does add a ton of complications to reffing the game during auton.
I don’t expect it to, or even realistically hope for it to happen, but a person can dream.
No going and starting 100 threads dedicated to eliminating or reverting anything though; we saw where that gets us.
Probably safe to assume the new game will be very conducive to the Live Remote format. Ex. scoring objects easy to see, not a lot of contact, etc.
The GDC plans the games 2 years in advance. It was not designed around LRT format. It may still work well with the format, but they didn’t know it would be a thing when they made the game.

just fill the entire field up to the perimeter with the finest iron filings money can buy. use electromagnets to sculpt the filings into statues of karthik. most glorious statue wins.
On a serious note, since their new release is focused on automation, we could see some kind of collect parts and assemble game. Not sure how exactly it would work, since there is always some kind of defense/swing, but I think if done well that could be pretty interesting.

Yeah, but you have to draw Drow for the game.
The base pick is Drow and you have to use the iron fillings to mess it up. A common strategy will be deep frying it.
