What’s a recommended drivetrain for Vex5

I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for what components a Vex5 drivetrain should have (how many motors/watts it should have, and if it should be all Omni wheeled.)

I’d recommend a basic tank drive as shown here: TankDrive. It’s really common, reliable, and relatively easy to build.

If it is your first year in vex, something like this might be a good idea. It is very simple and not that bad in practice.

If you think you are better than that, look at the Catalogue of Drive Gearings and find a faster drivetrain.

Look at some YouTube robot videos from over the years. There are lots of team that give in-depth explanations of their robots.

Like IAmSeal said, you should try using a tank drive, but if you are talking base wise I would suggest an X or H drive! Check out the sigbots wiki for info on drive trains.
